    04 trailblazer grinding

Why did you change your right hub assembly? Was the noise coming from that side? I ask because I replaced both hub assemblies during last summer and afterwards noticed a grinding coming for the right side. I was thinking it was a bad hub from the factory but it turned out to be shot...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

So the new disconnect assembly works great and 4x4 is engaging on demand again. I'm still thinking that the old assembly case was allowing a slight flex that was causing gears to not line up so the collar could not engage both gears. I got the differential plug off by torching it for 5 minutes...

    P0302 Code Multiple times now

I've been having the p0302 issue for a year or two And would love to collaborate to get both solved. I've replaced the boot #2 and all plugs last year among other things and haven't been able to get it resolved. I've run injector cleaner every half year or so and same issue, haven't tried sea...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

Here's and update for anyone that's interested: So this last Saturday I spent most of the day messing around trying to fix this dang thing. I first rebuild the disconnect assembly adding new bearings, seals and washers (minus one washer closest to the oil pan that has two tabs on it). When I...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

Thanks for all of the replies. Yep, I have the article of how to rebuild (Offroadtb.com Front Axle 4WD Disconnect) which is well written and a god-send in this situation. I just wasn't sure if that is common that the intermediate shaft comes out with the disconnect assembly, glad to hear that...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

Wow, bearings are absolutely shot!! The edge of the bearing house was sheered off lying on a part of the frame of the truck with some of the bearing  Thanks for the help in the diagnosis, now to order the parts and tear apart the disconnect for the new parts. I'm guessing the gears are fine...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

Ok, thanks for your help, time to start dismantling. How often do the actuators go bad, I'm wondering if I should replace or dismantle and clean while I have it off. I saw roadie's archived post on the OS about how to open and clean it so that may come jn handy.. Thanks

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

Thanks for the reply. It's been acting like this for a while, nothing specific that lead to the issues I'm having 145,000 miles on truck, the switch was replaced about 3 or 4 years ago as it shorted out on me. I don't recall the TCCM ever being replaced. I just replaced the encoder motor and it...

4x4 not engaging on 2002 Trailblazer

I'm hoping some people could help me diagnose an intermittent working 4x4 issue. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Everything appears fine (no codes or service lights and the switch lights appear to be operating normally) but am not getting either 4AWD, 4Hi or 4lo to engage as of...

Water LEAK - Rear Cargo Compartment. (Solution)

I've had a leak in the rear cargo area in the center of the truck. The latch area would fill up with water and then run towards the front of the truck and into the rear floor storage compartment and soaked everything in it along with all of the carpet and padding underneath. After some...

Options for additional lift with existing 2" BDS

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback. My tires are actually 265-70-17 so my previous post was a misprint. Both of your trucks look sick!! Time to order some parts for my truck to make it happen... thanks again...

Options for additional lift with existing 2" BDS

Thanks for the great info Navigator, I have a couple more questions. What type of bolts do you use to add the additional spacer (size and grade)? How much more height did you get from the z71 springs in the rear (it looks like from other posts they don't let as much sag)? About what point to...

Options for additional lift with existing 2" BDS

I've been reading threads and searching on this site for the last few days on the options for increasing my truck's lift with an existing BDS 2' lift and have a few questions that I'm hoping someone could chime it with their past experiences. First my set current set up is the BDS lift with HD...
