You've got to keep up on the oil on the 5.3, it eats it like crazy. The DOD in particular will suck it down when on the freeway, and I also notice increased usage when I'm towing. I'd try a bit of sea foam in the oil to see if it's just a clogged sensor from being low. I have always been...

DON'T use fuel line. Had the guy at the parts store give me some because it's what the had left when I asked for Transmission. Ended up splitting and dumping my fluid all over the road a few days later. The manager did step up and give me cash for the parts I bought at another place to fix it.

The one on the right I did check, there was no sign of any corrosion or dirt there. The 3 on the left I think are located lower down on the 5.3. I did check one of the connectors, but they're not so convenient to get at as that. I'll take a second look and see if I can get at them.

Got advice today from a GM mechanic that the park/neutral safety switch on the transmission may be the culprit. The indicator stuck in 1st was a clue, so I think I'll try a part swap on that first. I'm ok with laying out 40.00 for that to give it a shot. This diagnosis make a lot more sense...

I did read that one, and if thats the case I might be in a world of hurt. I believe the Saab ignition switch is custom as its in the center, and my quick research so far is that its not available anywhere.
