I've found when mine sounds like a diesel, if I run a bottle of rxp or two it cleans it up good and dieseling stops. Wish they'd get rid of ethanol.

I've found on mine, fuel system cleaner will takecare of it. maybe 2 tanks if I let it go too long between treatments. Does sound like a diesel shutting down.

No but if you look up the hose you will see cracks that run up into the hose where it is supposed to seal around the connections.
