Oil level I think it just says to check oil level when the truck is first started with no bells or anything. Not sure what it would do on a non-DIC truck.
AFAIK, there is no warning for an overtemp oil situation. These trucks don't even have an oil cooler. Can't say I remember an oil temp sensor on these at all.

Somewhere I saw it was both an oil level and temperature sensor but it looks like it's only an oil level sensor. I couldn't find anything mentioned in my owners manual either.
So.....it IS both a temperature sensor and an oil level sensor after all! Does anyone know what kind of warning I would get or if it would drop into "Limp' mode when oil temps are outside parameters?
I don't know what that picture that @movietvet posted but it's not for the 2002 4.2, which is the only year it had an oil level sensor. It's on the bottom of the oil pan, right on the middle.
It may have included an oil temp sensor but it's description only calls it an oil level sensor.
