Thanks Mooseman, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a loose belt. When I replaced the belt and tensioner belt went on easy. When I replaced the idler pulley, needed a crowbar to get the belt back on. Just a few mm difference in diameter tightened it up to the extreme!

What I meant was if I end up replacing the water pump as the root cause of this issue it would be the second time I replaced a water pump over the life of the truck . Thanks for the reply, I will be pulling the belt once I get it back.

Believe it. I just replaced struts and sway bar links. Clunking low speeds in random way, sometimes over bumps sometimes not. The right sway bar link attachment nut had backed it self off. Tracking it down was frustrating. Retorqued, popping gone!
