NEED HELP Power Steering Various Problems and Questions

On the '03 where the lines go in we have those stupid cup seals, which is what I detailed in my other thread. As for rust, entirely possible but I don't live in a rust belt, we don't use salt to nearly the same degree in Sask as in other provinces, and most of my driving is done on the backroads...

NEED HELP Power Steering Various Problems and Questions

Aye, thinking i'll probably do that and get a lower viscosity fluid in there, replace any shitty clamps i can find and then see what happens. Thanks for the feedback, I will keep this thread updated.

NEED HELP Power Steering Various Problems and Questions

Alright, thanks for the response. With this Sask winter we're having, i ain't headed to a wrecker any time soon. Maybe there was a time, but I can't be bothered. The pump is only making noise when I know the system is low, but like I said I have ran it low a couple times, not to mention twice...

NEED HELP Power Steering Various Problems and Questions

'03 TB LTZ 318xxx km Heyo, more fantastical power steering issues. Hadn't done much to address the leak I referenced in this thread: https://gmtnation.com/forums/threads/power-steering-leak-at-rack-connection.22940/ TL : DR, replaced all my PS lines in spring 2020, but screwed up one of the...

What year Envoy or Trailblazer would you buy if you had to replace yours?

These are the points as to why this thread is relevant. This platform is so very fixable imo, and the knowledgebase online for keeping them on the road is stellar.

How long should it be able to sit.....battery losing charge.

Further to this, the more your vehicle sits and the battery drains, the faster it's going to go on you. This is also exacerbated by cold weather climates.

Power steering leak at rack connection

Hey everyone, it's been a long time. I was sidelined for a while due to a chronic pain condition, and as such I took my '03 TB off the road at the time. Been driving some more lately, and looking to get the ol' girl up and motoring again. There's a few issues, but for the most part she runs much...

    ABS Light On after repairs

Thanks for all the replies, good to know I might be able to get it out without replacing the hub. I'll be running the scan tomorrow but I'm pretty sure this is the problem.

    ABS Light On after repairs

Going to borrow a good scanner to read the codes tomorrow, but after doing a little research I'm almost certain I broke my speed sensor off in the bore on my driver front side. It's the only one I took off (the passenger side was less trouble for me than the driver side) and looking at the...

    ABS Light On after repairs

Okay as per 2 other threads I've done, I've recently just completed repairs to my front end including: LCAs (whole piece including bracket) UCAs Upper Ball Joints Sway Bar Links Power Steering Lines (all 3) Exhaust Manifold to CAT pipe seal (donut) For what I removed to do this, the fuse box...

05 envoy 4.2 annoying little issues.

My thoughts also, eventually your other steppers will go (or at least mine have been one by one) so if you do end up changing any of them, probably best to change them all while you're in there. Or just run torque app on your phone for your gauges like I do :2thumbsup:

Control Arms, Ball Joints and Links

So the driver side took me a whole bunch of days/attempts at different stages/parts. Today I did the passenger side, can't believe how much easier it was. Part of it was knowing what I'm doing, part of it was the weather, part of it was soaking stuff in penetrant all day yesterday, but part of...

Control Arms, Ball Joints and Links

I got the all in one LCA with the bracket included, I shouldn't have to tighten anything there in that case, correct?

Control Arms, Ball Joints and Links

With the help of people I decided to replace my front end control arms (upper and lower), upper ball joints and sway bar end links. Actually found a pretty good price from PartsAvatar for the parts (shipping killed RockAuto as an option). Starting with the driver's side, I had a heck of a time...

    WANTED J-44586 Seal Extractor

That's precisely it, I thought the seal was still in there because I didn't see it land anywhere when I popped it out. I looked in and the 2 inlets looked different, I assumed the seal was still in. I didn't realize they're supposed to look different, I'm guessing the pressure line has a valve...
