2006 4.2 TB 4wd faster than 2008 4.2 TB 4wd?

While driving my wifes TB, it has always had more pep than mine. I know the motors are the same, the only thing I can think is maybe the gearing is different. How can I find out what the difference is between the 2?

IIRC that = 3.42 gearing.

Any stickers we should be aware of? Speed/racing stickers add 5hp per sticker While the stick figure family stickers deduct 2hp.

Ones tuned and the other isn't? my dad's envoy always felt like it would run circles around me, even though he has 3.43s and I have 3.73s. I feel like it depends on how the truck was used for its life. The envoy according to car fax was a soccer mom car. Mine we don't know, the report wasn't that detailed.

08 = 285hp

Yeah there is some stereo weight, over 300 lbs. but she usually has our 3 kids for a total of 250 lbs so not a big difference there. Plugs, air filter, tire pressure etc are maintained very well. Neither is tuned. And if it is the 6 hp difference it's feels like a big difference.

06s and 08 have different PCMs, at least from a hardware standpoint. A factory tune doesn't necessarily mean the same tune. Low-end power, torque management, fuel, etc. may be mapped differently...perhaps

Time them both with mileage and weight so we have some data to look at?

You would know if it runs faster to 60 or whatever from 0 or a roll by timing a run or three.

I mean you would think the newer one would be faster, 6 hp isn't that noticeable. Maybe one has a failing cat? They both have maf's right? I mean two cars rolling off the line optioned the same can have performance differences so it could be a whole slew of things.
