Fan play?

The fan that connects to the water pump has very little play in it. The shaft has no play, just the fan. I think its called a fan clutch? Is that normal for these engines? Again, verrrry little back and forth play.

There should be very little axial play. If it's very noticeable, I would say that the internal bearing is failing. Just be sure that it is in fact the fan clutch and not the water pump. Remove the belt and see if the pump shaft moves.
