How to remove battery tray 2004 TB LS?

How do you reach the front 13mm bolts of the battery tray to remove them? What kind of design puts bolts there, underneath the wider top and squeezed between the horns? Do I have to remove the horn to reach the innermost bolt?? Thanks.

That’s what I did. I removed the headlight, then the horn. That allowed access to the bolts on the front of the battery bracket. Wear gloves since there are some sharp edges that you still have to navigate to get a wrench in there. Also be advised - the machine screw that holds the horn down can be a PITA to get aligned and started to thread in when reinstalling the horn.

Been a long time since I removed the one on my 02 TB but I don't remember it being overly difficult. However I was replacing the engine so a lot was removed. I think I do remember some interference from the horns and wiring.
