How to replace camshaft position sensor?

I think what may have happened is that when the water pump went and the belt slipped off, the belt whacked the sensor.

In any case, it's partly out with the guts dangling by the harness, with the plastic body still in the engine.

On the old site, I see Roadie mentioned having just replaced his, and didn't make a big deal about it.

Another article I found was talking about getting the #1 cylinder to TDC, which -- well, I know what it means, but I don't
know how to do that.

Anybody done this one?

There has been a recent discussion here about it being a trivial job. One bolt.

I'll take my dashboard out and not make a big deal about it, so that's not a prefect calibration.....but in this case you're spot on.

That may apply to some engines but not to ours. It's literally out-and-in. Some engines have also been reported to need a CASE relearn over the camshaft sensor, as far as I know ours also do not.

And this is with taking time to double or triple check your work. Or if you can't figure out the locking connectors. :rotfl:

Or if your beer wench is on break and you don't have a garage fridge and you have to go into the house for one.
