Ignition Switch

Ignition Switch is bad it seems since there's no 4WD A/C and the ABS light is on. What are some things i should take into account when replacing it? Any tips or such? I'v heard that the airbag may deploy is that true? The part is on the way and would love to fix it even if i have never done a fix like this before.

When replacing, remove the negative (-) terminal from your battery. Some have pulled the airbag fuse when doing this, and some haven't. Just to be safe, I would. One extra minute of labor (to locate and pull the fuse) can save you many of days of work and also save you lots of money!

Yea the lining of the teeth looks simple but i'm assuming it has to be just right. Well it should at least be a good learning exprince but still hoping for the best. Meaning i have the right tools and the clips don't brake LOL.

Got mine from AdvanceAuto. I Bought many things and I got a deal with it. Not sure how much the switch is though.

Got the switch off of Ebay for $25 shipped i think and its a AC Delco.

Finished it shes fixed for now and my back hurts i smell what a great day! 90+ out today sweating like a hog.

Lets see might have took a hour but that was partly from me taking breaks from the weather and getting the switch out of the socket its in. Would have been so easy if it was nice out. Also as a note when your taking the old one out i broke the clip where the wires go in instead of playing around trying to get them out.

Now it wont start at all, i can turn the key on and try to crank it but nothing, the dashlights come on,radio works and i know the battery its new, and its not the starter because it was tested and it cracks. I don't know what it could be, the vehicle shifter is also locked in Park, it won't move to neutral and their is no manual override. Sometimes it works again, but you can start over only one time and then it dont work.....
May by it is problem with ignition switch ?
If somebody know what to do help.

Not to sure if the ignition switch would cause those problems have you replaced it before?

It might not even be switch related. Have someone check it out, if you have no idea what to do. When i replaced my switch I did not aligned the teeth correct and it would not crank, but once I aligned them It started right up. Good luck.

my electrician says that the switch is problem, so i order one from ebay because in my country you cant buy it at shop

Idle RPM when warm is 600. That's normal on these trucks. Inline 6 engines can idle low like that

I think mine idles somewhere around there.
