So finally got the exhaust done. Went with a flowmaster super 44 and a 4inch flowmaster tip

I am thrilled with the results.... i continue to smile every time i turn the key. Its a little loud btw 2500-3000 rpm but whatever. Otherwise with windows up and the music on you barely hear it.

Nice. Super 44 sounds pretty good especially when the driver gets on it heading away from the camera.

Have you removed your intake resonator?

not yet... eventually getting the K&N intake that mounts direct to the throttle body

That sounds good. I hate when guys post muffler swap sound clips, keeps reminding me how much I wanna do this mod too!

I can never make up my mind between the Flowmaster, Hooker AeroChamber and Gibson setups.

hows the drone in the car during hwy driving
not too bad. regular cruising with the windows up and radio on its barely noticeable. Every now and then, climbing a hill ill hit that 2500-3000 rpm range and itll get a bit noisy but i dont mind it... i want to hear the exhaust, its what make me smile

edit: and if you dont like the drone at that rpm just go faster ;)

do you have the muffler part number to i can the proper inlet outlet size and offset.

Thank you

943047 - the orientation is center in offset out and i went with the 3" version. got the muffler from JEG's and got the tip cheaper on ebay

Me like!

Well crap...up until this point I had removed all temptation to do anything to the exhaust because I didn't like anything I had heard. Then you go and do this....

What difference would leaving the resonator in place make? My assumption would be less drone, but would it negate the low rumble?

Dont think I have ever heard of anyone replacing the stock muffler with a performance one and leaving the resonator in place.

I am actually pleased with the sound of the exhaust with the stock muffler and resonator hacked off. Removing the intake resonator will change the tone of the exhaust and engine as well.

I did this too, chopped off the exhaust resonator, removed intake resonator and cut out the airbox resonator, leaving the stock muffler. Different tone, same volume, no drone, happy camper. (until I hear exhaust mod clips)

I have not had the greatest experiences with modifications to exhaust in the past and cutting out a component from the middle of the system gives me more pause than just replacing the muffler. Keep in mind, I'd be doing this on my own and I am no welder, so it'd be band clamps all the way.
