Does anyone use Torque Pro engine diagnostics system? I just bought a Bluetooth dongle for the OBD2 port and purchased the TorquePro system for my phone and I'm having problems. I can connect to the Bluetooth device, but it cannot connect to my 06 Trailblazer's PCM. Do I need to mess with any of the Advanced settings, such as the protocol?

It should plug right in, mine did. Maybe you have an issue with the obdii port.

Have you tried the dongle in another vehicle?

Was it one of the $18 cheapie dongles? High failure rate reported on those. Mine worked, but I usually don't cheap out like that. As mentioned, try connecting to another vehicle.

Mine was $7.00 on Amazon. And, I just plugged it in to a 1998 Nissan Frontier, and it worked fine. So it must have something to do with the communications protocol. Maybe mine was below the cheapness threshold?

I do have a little cheapo Actron code reader, it is working fine. I think I read something about some of the cheapest Bluetooth units not working right with all the different comm protocols. Kinda dissapointed, just fixin to drive it about 900 miles and was anxious to play with it while my wife drives.

have problem s working with torque. I tried three different ones from different suppliers because I wanted to keep it plugged in all the time. They would connect with my phone but not with torque.
I ended up getting one of the larger ones

And have had no trouble on multiple vehicles.
I have the smaller and the bigger one. I got the small one to to fit in the trailblazer since the long one stuck out. The short one worked at first, then it blew a fuse and hasn't worked in the trailblazer since. It still works in my other car though.

I've also had zero problems with the longer adapter.

Mine works in my 98 frontier, and inlaws 2011 Buick lacrosse, but won't work in my 06 Trailblazer.

Download the "free" version which is really a trial. Then you buy it from there. You can get the program for $9.95 but if you want more in depth stuff for your vehicle it is an additional $9.95. Totally worth it
I just downloaded it. Seems more user friendly than torque. I might have to invest after I try the trial version. Thanks for the heads up.
