From others here and on YT videos that have connected a mechanical gauge, pressures can go as high as 80 psi when cold and settle back down to 60 psi hot at driving RPM depending on how old and... -

I'd try it in D and see how it acts. Probably will still need to downshift to 3rd going up grades or you notice it hunting between 3rd and 4th. Headwinds can also affect towing.

I guess it would depend on the terrain and gearing. If you have the GU6 gearing, I would tow in 3rd. If you are noticing the transmission shifting more than it would normally, put it in 3rd.
